THE subsidy on urea fertilizer will be provided to farmers on all costs and the fertilizer hoarders will be dealt with an iron hand.

This was stated by Punjab Minister for Agriculture Malik Ahmad Ali Aulakh while presiding a meeting at the committee room of the Punjab Agriculture Research Board on Friday. The meeting was held to discuss the availability of the fertilizer during the current Kharif season.

Mr Aulakh asked the fertilizer manufacturing companies to inform the Agriculture Department about the dispatch of fertilizer so that monitoring could be ensured regarding its sale to the growers. He said the provincial government had informed federal government about its requirement of urea fertilizer and it was expected that there would be no shortage of fertilizer due to its timely import. He said arrangements for transport and manpower were being made to bring fertilizer to the province from Gwadar port.
